Hans Detlefsen, MPP, is Director of HVS Global Hospitality Services in Chicago, which is dedicated to objective and independent hotel appraisals and consulting assignments. His clients include investment banks, lenders, equity investors, owners, operators, tourism agencies, nonprofit organizations, state and local governments, and private developers.
Mr. Detlefsen's team is engaged in a wide range of assignments from small, boutique hotels to large, convention headquarters hotels in major urban centers. Areas of expertise also include conference centers, foreclosure situations, lease negotiations, management contract consulting, mixed-use developments, portfolio valuations, public-private partnerships, waterpark analyses, and custom survey research. Hans and his staff recently appraised a portfolio of all Chicago-area Hilton properties included in the Blackstone Group's acquisition of Hilton Hotels. Hans' team is currently working on assignments throughout the United States and several international markets.
Hans and his wife Emily live in Chicago's Hyde Park neighborhood, located on the City's south side. They enjoy cooking, debating public policy, and going to White Sox games.
